Read Alouds - The Voyage of Dr Dolittle

We live on a small island in Indonesia where we cant go to a library, and there are no English books within a thousand kilometres of here, so we rely on the classics that we can download and print off ourselves.

We started reading the Dr Dolittle books by Hugh Lofting and we fell in love with them. My son loves animals and adventures and these books are full of them! I read and read and read until I was hoarse and then it was my husbands turn.

Dr Dolittle goes on an adventure to find a moving island and on the way helps people, discovers rare species of plants and animals and along the way shows great respect for both animals and humanity.
