During the home school high school years, I have looked for entrepreneur courses, books and resources which encourage real life learning and help our children to develop their own interests and pursue their goals and build the skills they need.
When you want to direct your own learning, you need to:
This, then, becomes the simple model to prepare them for a life of successful self directed learning. Using this model - they can set goals and follow course and be self directed as all entrepreneurs need to be.
This page contains some entrepreneur courses which we have used and are currently using and which your family may also enjoy.
For a while we used a course called RealWorldPrep. Unfortunately, this is no longer available - but it included various modules on how a teen could create different business ideas. There were modules on Ebay Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Building an online presence through a website etc and it was extremely helpful course to follow.
Nathan Jurewicz who was one of the authors of RealWorldPrep - wrote this 34 page book: "Is a Custom Academic Homeschool Education Good Enough?" He says, "Hi my name is Nathan Jurewicz, I'm 30 years old, I was homeschooled and thanks to 2 loving parents was able to get a high paying job at a very early age and then eventually started several successful businesses in real estate and Internet marketing and trained thousands of “full grown” entrepreneurs on how to succeed in today’s recession." Only costs $0.99
You can find a lot of entrepreneurial information on You Tube as well as Udemy Courses. One free course is called, "An Entrepreneur's Checklist" and there will be plenty of more courses. Find an instructor you like and choose courses you'd like to learn.
I haven't watched this course, but I have done other Udemy courses with my children and also for my own interest.
Firstly here are some books we have read over the years. I was looking to include, "Minding your own Business" by Raymond and Dorothy Moore, but could not find easy access to that book. Instead, I added, The 4-Hour Workweek: . The main premise of the book is to help you to work smarter thus freeing up your time. Some of my children have spoken about their dream job to earn them enough income to live on so that they could participate more fully in ministry without needing to be paid for it. So, read it in that light. It doesn't encourage laziness, rather using your time effectively so that you free up time for other 'work' which can then be unpaid.
Solo Build It! - comprehensive step by step guide to create not just a website, but a profitable web business.
There's no mistake that I love Solo Build It! and I have many pages written about what I have learned from my website building experiences.
When I first wanted to build a web site and started researching for answers on the web, I soon felt overwhelmed with everything I didn't know and not knowing how or where to begin. I couldn't create a plan of what to do next, because this was all totally foreign to me! Read more here...
But Solo Build It! is also a course which would encourage your children to think as entrepreneurs - to see opportunities. The skills you or your young adults learn through this action guide, makes this a brilliant entrepreneur course to complete.

We have used Biblical Economics Course by R.C.Sproul, and we love this. We listened to the lectures by Sproul and it was always great to discuss.
We have also loved the Economics for Everybody Course from Compass Classroom. This course is so informative, engaging and entertaining. (which is a speciality from Compass Classroom)

It may be a bit rough around the edges - but these books are easy to understand and fun to implement. It's great financial information for both adults trying to redeem financial messes - and also for kids to get them started in a healthy way learning how to develop healthy habits to save and use money wisely.
